Macquarie
University's Foundation for Astronomy holds Astronomy
Open Nights at the Macquarie campus twice a year. In 2003
the Open Nights will be held on 5 April and 23 September.
Up
to 20 telescopes will be in operation and there will be
displays of telescopes, books, maps and posters. Bookings
are not required.

Entry fees are $8 per adult and $4 per child (maximum $20 family).
Cloudy weather may prevent telescopic viewing.

In
addition, the Macquarie University Observatory is open
to the public every Friday, except Good Friday (18th April
2003) and Boxing Day (26th December 2003). It is open from
8:30pm from November-March and from 7.30pm from April-October.
Private tours are available by arrangement. The all-weather
program consists of mixed presentations of slides, posters,
and models, and on clear nights star-finder sessions will
be conducted with observations made through the 16-inch
Meade telescope.
